Premiering on Netflix, Finding Her Edge became a big hit when it was released in January of 2026. The series was based on a young adult novel by Jennifer Lacopelli, which follows Adriana Russo as she juggles competition, family legacy, and a new partnership after stepping up to skate for her father’s sake. The Russo Rink was created by Will and Sarah Russo, who won the world championship for paired figure skating. Building the rink was a plan to continue their family legacy through their children, Adriana, Elise, and Maria. When the mother, Sarah Russo, died, the whole family struggled, which caused Adriana to quit skating with her first partner, Freddie. Freddie wasn’t only her skating partner, but also her first love. This caused chaos, but moving forward, Freddie came back to the rink to skate with his new partner, Riley, to compete further, hoping to advance to worlds. The older sister, Elise, injured herself during her solo, so she was not cleared to compete.

With this happening, Adriana had to step up to try to save the rink from going bankrupt, but this wasn’t easy. She had to find a new partner, try to find as many sponsors as possible, and put on her best performance on the ice after a two-year break. Not only was that her main agenda, but there are love interests involved. As Freddie came back to the rink, she was taken aback by the lingering feelings shared between the two of them. Freddie isn’t the only interest as we meet Brayden Elliot further on, her new skating partner, who ends up falling for her throughout their partnership. Personally, I believe this show was an amazing watch that will bring many emotions to the table. It’s an emotional rollercoaster as you keep up with the Russo Rink, including all the drama, competitions, and plot twists no one could have prepared you for. While the plot line thickens by the episode, the ice skating is phenomenal to watch, as well as seeing them prepare and train for the competitions. The show was well put together with a great cast that can show the emotions in the best way possible. If you like romance and drama like me, this is the show for you!
