Needohs have resurfaced through the internet and taken over. The viral stress ball can be spotted in multiple hands, but hardly any stores. I made it my mission to travel all through town, searching for the scarce “Nice Cube” with the help of two friends. The Nice Cube is a hard, slow-rise fidget that caused the Needoh craze. The first location was Target. While we went through the toy section, gift section, and multiple hiding locations, there were none. Next, we went to the West Park Mall, hitting up two of the stores. When we asked an employee at Imagine That, she told us the store only had “Super Needohs,” and they wouldn’t receive new shipments for weeks. Barnes and Noble was hard to navigate, so we asked an employee to help us. To our luck, she grabbed the little bit of inventory left stored in the back. During our conversation, we found out people had been stealing them, so they stopped stocking the shelves out front. It was a success, but we wanted to see if, by any chance, there were different variations of Needohs in other stores. We went to CVS, then Walgreens, and both of the Walmarts in town. None of them had any more Needohs. Regardless, we were still fortunate enough to find the Nice Cubes at Barnes and Noble. The obsession with stress balls has reduced their accessibility, but after using them for a full day, I was able to see how addictive they really are.
