These last few weeks, the LA Dodgers and the Toronto Blue Jays have been battling for a World Series win. The Dodgers are trying to win back-to-back World Series. At the same time, the Blue Jays are battling for their first of the new century. I interviewed Chapman Ogles, an avid baseball fan. Ogles had a feeling that the LA Dodgers would win it all and go back-to-back. But he feels that the Dodgers buy all of their wins by paying all of the great players millions and millions of dollars to win.
Game three of the World Series went to 18 innings. This has happened only five times in MLB history. Ogles’ thoughts on that game were, “It was a crazy game, but the better team always finds a way to win.” They did so because the Dodgers came out of that game victorious, and they proved to be the better team because they won the World Series, claiming the title for the second consecutive year.
The Dodgers won the World Series in Game seven, arguably the craziest Game seven in a long time. Game seven went into extras tied 4 to 4 and lasted to the 11th, where the Dodgers came out victorious, winning 5 to 4, becoming the 14th team to win back-to-back championships.
All in all, this World Series has been my favorite to watch since 2011. Sadly, the Dodgers will probably be on top for a long time, but it’s something we will have to wait and see for next season.
