iPhone 11

With time comes technological advancements. Many teenagers these days do not remember times before their smartphones. This week, on September 10, 2019, well known company, Apple,  had their annual September keynote at the Steve Jobs Theatre in Cupertino, California. Apple announced exciting new items and operating systems many people cannot wait to get their hands on. However, most people were most excited to hear about the new iPhone.

This year, Apple announced they were releasing three new iPhones: iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and iPhone 11 Pro Max. Unfortunately, these wonderful new smartphones do not have wonderful prices. With the iPhone 11 starting at $699, iPhone 11 Pro at $999, and iPhone 11 Pro Max at $1,099. The reviews on the new iPhone have been mixed. There is memes talking about how ugly the phone is and some people are saying it is beautiful. The new design on the iPhone 11 Pro is definitely different looking than the past two iPhones (iPhone X and iPhone XS). The main difference on the iPhone 11 Pro is that it contains three little cameras versus one large camera. The phone contains a wide lens camera, ultra-wide lens, and a telephoto lens. Since the phone has a cluster of three small holes on the back, many people are saying the phones triggers their trypophobia (fear of small holes). There has been articles from CNN, Cosmopolitan, and BuzzFeed on how this new phone could make people with trypophobia uncomfortable when looking at it. Crazy right?

Overall, with iPhone sales being down last year, Apple is hoping for a good year. I hope for them the trypophobia doesn’t keep people from purchasing the phones, but in all honesty the price is probably more of a dealbreaker than the trypophobia. I am excited to see how people really feel about the phone when it is released September 20, 2019.
