Senior Ella Vogel signed to further her volleyball career at Murray State University on Wednesday, November 10. Vogel chose Murray State over Southeast Missouri State, among others. She also decided to pursue collegiate volleyball over multiple Division 1 basketball offers.

Murray State head coach Dave Schwepker told goracers.com “Ella will be a strong offensive addition to the Murray State Volleyball program. She has the ability to be okay middle or outside hitter. She was heavily recruited so we are honored that she made her decision to attend Murray State.”

Vogel has been named SEMO Conference Player of the Year and SEMO Conference Hitter of the Year her junior and senior years, along with earning three Semoball Volleyball Player of the Year award nominations. The 6’1 outside hitter has earned first-team All-Conference all four years at Cape Central, as well as being named to the All-District first team three years in a row.

During her multi-sport recruiting process, Vogel became drawn to the Murray, KY, school very early on. Vogel said, “I’ve had a relationship with the coaches for a very long time, and when I went to my visit it just felt like home already. All the girls are awesome and everyone there was very welcoming.”
