Tigers Down the Hawks in Friday Night Matchup

The Tigers came out on top against the Class 3, Lift for Life Academy Hawks Friday night. The Tigers came out hot and stayed hot for the entirety of the night. CHS Sophomore, Cameron Williams left the game in the middle of the 2nd quarter with a foot related injury. Williams was the backbone for the Tigers defense racking up the majority of Tiger rebounds and blocks. It is still questionable when the 6’7 big man will return, but he will definitely be missed on the floor. Central Senior, Darion Triplett lead the Tigers in points, knocking down 19 with help from guards, Maurice Boyd and Jonathan Brandtner. Junior Cameron Harris had an emphatic slam over a Hawks’ defender that erupted the CHS student section and energized the whole team to continue the positive performance. The Tigers maintained a sizable lead throughout the game and continued that all the way throughout the contest. The Tigers defeated the Hawks in a 22-point blowout, 57-35. The Tigers will face their SEMO Conference rivals, the Sikeston Bulldogs, Friday in Sikeston at 6 p.m. Tigers have already defeated the Bulldogs once this season and hope to improve their record to (8-7).
