Big Lead Slips Away as Tigers Fall to Bulldogs

The Cape Central Tigers faced the Notre Dame Bulldogs Tuesday night. The Tigers had high hopes going into the game, already defeating the Bulldogs in the Southeast Missourian Christmas Tournament, earlier in the season. The Tigers faced a few challenges though. The Tigers were coming off a loss to the New Madrid County Central Eagles and were without Senior Tyrome Huff.

The Tigers started off the game strong battling back and forth with the Bulldogs. Sophomore Maurice Boyd stepped up big in the absence of Huff and Cameron Williams put in some crucial buckets for the Tigers. The Tigers fought their way to a two point deficit at half. The Tigers started the 3rd Quarter off strong taking the lead and pushing ahead to a 12 point lead. After some costly turnovers, the Bulldogs creeped back into the game and forced a 39-39 overtime.

The Tigers underperformed in overtime and fell behind by 8 points, losing to their in-town rivals the Notre Dame Bulldogs.
