Probably every fast food restaurant one could imagine is in Cape Girardeau. From Taco Bell to Arbys to Panda Express people can get any fast food they desire. So with all these choices, I wanted to figure out what fast food place has the best cheeseburger. I sent out a survey to everyone at Cape Central High School, even faculty and staff; I gave them eight different places to choose from. The options were; McDonald’s, Burger King, Culvers, Steak ‘n Shake, Hamburger Express, Wendys, Sonic, and Dairy Queen, 

At some of the places I listed above there were multiple burger options for certain places so after that, there were 10 cheeseburger options to choose from. In the survey, I asked for everyone to choose their 1st, 2nd, and 3rd favorite cheeseburgers. I got a surprising amount of answers back, 168 responses to be exact. The winner of the best burger in Cape Girardeau was Culver’s Butter Burger. Out of 168 people who replied 55 people picked Culver’s Butter Burger, which personally I agree with. Kate Buckley said, “They’re crispy and beautiful.” The runner up for best burger is Steak ‘n Shakes Double Steakburger, which kind of surprised me, I didn’t know people liked Steak ‘n Shake. Finally, people’s 3rd favorite burger is the Whopper from Burger King. Lauren Hamby said the Whopper “is cooked to perfection and all the toppings stay crisp and not soggy.”

Along with what was the best burger in Cape, I was curious what people’s favorite toppings were. Some people had interesting responses. One person said they like fried pineapple on their burgers. I had never heard of that before but I guess don’t knock it until you try it. Another response was that they like diced onions better than big onions slices on their burger. Most people just said they like the basic toppings like lettuce, tomato, onion, ketchup, and mustard. 

In this paper we figured out what place has the best burgers. We also found out that most people just like the basic toppings on their burgers. So according to CHS If you want a good burger go to Culvers and get their delicious butter burger.
