Seniors Shine at Big Man on Campus

Cape Central senior boys had the chance to show their stuff at this year’s Big Man on Campus, and they didn’t disappoint.

Big Man on Campus is an annual event sponsored by Student Senate. It’s basically a beauty pageant infused with comedy and music, all in support of the Safe House for Women. Male seniors are given the opportunity to sign up with a talent and put together an entire performance to put on before the student body. In addition to their talents, the boys also participate in a number of other categories, such as beachwear, formal wear, and a question section. Several adult judges critique the boys in each of the categories and at the end of the night, the winners are announced. Winners receive monetary prizes.

In addition to watching the competitors, audience members can participate in a raffle. Prizes this year included Krispy Kreme coupons, gift cards to Starbucks and Panera, and a $50 Shogun gift certificate.

Here were this year’s contestants:

Russell Allen sang “Wagon Wheel” by Darius Rucker.

Dylan Coonts performed “Cabinet Battle 1” from the musical Hamilton.
