Spring break is a vacation from classes for students during the spring season. For Cape Central students, our Spring break happens between April 17-22 this year. It is also called our Easter break since it happens during Easter, which is on the 20th of April. This allows students to spend Easter with their loved ones and friends. While some use this week-long vacation to relax and take a break from school, others use it to travel to remote places. Spring break is a chance to unwind from school and create memories outside of school.
It has become a staple for high schools and colleges. It dates back all the way to 1938, when Fort Lauderdale, Florida, hosted the College Coaches’ Swim Forum. Over 300 swimmers and their student bodies attended. About 20 years later, over 20,000 students would show up to Fort Lauderdale to spend their break.
However someone decides to spend their spring break, it provides an opportunity to truly reflect and step away from the challenges and pressures of everyday life. The break allows students to return to their studies recharged.
