At Cape Central High School, we have a teacher who is in charge of the A+ Program. This teacher is Mrs. Andersson! You may be wondering what exactly is the A+ Program? The answer is simple: a program that allows for high school students to work in classrooms with students while gaining credit hours to help aid in college expenses.
Over the course of several years, Mrs. Andersson has worked relentlessly to make sure that the program runs smoothly and that students are able to receive free tutoring during the school day. The purpose of this program is to aid the teachers in the classroom. While a teacher may seem to have all the students understanding, sometimes there are the students that require one-on-one help. This is where the A+ tutor steps in. While helping students, both the students and the tutor benefit. The students gain extra help that they may need and the tutor gains hands-on experience with the way a classroom works as well as people skills.
The basis of the A+ program is students that have good attendance, overall good behavior, and a passion for learning and teaching. While the number of hours to get credit is only 50, many of the students go over and beyond, completin many more hours just from the sheer fun of the program.
Thanks to Mrs. Andersson, students at Cape Central High School are able to engage in hands-on learning with students in different categories of classrooms. Thank you Mrs. Andersson!
