There is a lot of excitement circulating around the newly released shows on Netflix. One of the most popular shows on Netflix is Outer Banks which released its first part of Season 4 on October 10, 2024. The second part of Season 4 will be released on November 7th, each part consisting of five episodes. This show is #2 on Today’s top 10 list.

Outer Banks is about a group of teenagers who depend on themselves to live. These teenagers’ names are Jj, John B, Pope, Sarah Cameron, Kiara, and Cleo. These 6 teenagers like to go on adventures such as trying to find gold after John B’s dad, John Routledge, disappeared. Ava Harrison, a Junior at CHS says, “I love the show, I love how the show is set up because you really have to watch it to understand.” Delaney Ware, a Junior at CHS states, “I like the show a lot, I like that it represents how teenagers can take on any challenge and be independent.” 

Another newly released show on Netflix is Monsters, the Lyle and Erik Menendez story. This show consists of 9 episodes and is about two brothers who killed their parents and stand trial after confessing to the murders.  This show is #5 on the Top 10 list. This show is more of several theories into different episodes. Eduardo CorreasSalinas, A Junior at CHS says, “I love watching shows over true crime and this show is really interesting because they killed their parents and are standing trial.” Marley Hawkins, a Junior at CHS states, “The show is very crazy, it’s very interesting to get their perspective and see all the different theories.” To follow along with the Netflix show Monsters, the Lyle and Erik Menendez story, there is also a documentary called The Menendez Brothers true crime. This documentary was recently released in 2024. This documentary is the true story about the crime as Monsters is more of a theory.
