Photo Gallery: Varsity Baseball vs. Kennett
The Cape Central Tigers baseball team defeated the Class 4 #1 ranked Kennett Indians 4-2 at home on Monday, March 28. The Tigers were paced by a starting pitching outing by senior Ty Thatcher, going the full seven innings. Head coach Justin Lieser’s Tigers rallied from a 0-1 deficit in the first inning to go up 3-1 in the bottom of the second, highlighted by an RBI sacrifice bunt by freshman Valdi Zalite on a play that led to two runs being scored.
Central are now 1-1 in SEMO Conference play, after dropping their conference opener in Poplar Bluff on Saturday, March 26, by a score of 12-7, and sit with an overall season record of 4-4.
