Welcome to the Jungle!

Welcome+to+the+Jungle%21

You see them at football games, basketball games, they even have their own picture resting in the hallway leading to the commons. They’re decked out in Tiger Pride at just about every major Cape sporting event without fail; cheering and chanting for our players. While the purpose of The Jungle (to be a strong support system for Central athletes) has stayed the same throughout history, the leaders of this student section change every year. The current leaders were elected by direct appointment from the leaders of the previous year at the last boy’s basketball game. So, lets meet them:

QUEEN: Riley Jones

Favorite Theme? Hawaiian and Black out

Favorite Rival? Sikeston

Favorite Chant? Roller coaster

“My name is Riley and I’m a senior this year. I’m truly just a huge dork who likes to goof around and have fun. I love to be around people and learn about people who I don’t know much about. People fascinate me, but I’m much more interested in animals. After graduation, I plan on attending Mizzou or Auburn University, then attending veterinarian school for my masters. For future Jungle leaders, all I can hope for is entire inclusivity for ALL students. I hope every leader after me is bold, excited, and cares about people’s opinions, ideas, and suggestions.”

KING: Luke Laramore

Favorite Theme? White Out

Favorite Rival? Jackson- football; Sikeston- basketball

Favorite Chant? “I believe that we will win”

”I have always loved coming to games, but knowing that I have a section to sit in and be around my friends makes it even better. There is something about being around people with the same goal in mind and showing school spirit that makes it so fun. When I was a freshman I was very quiet, and I kept to myself. I believe that participating in the Jungle has brought me closer to friends and has helped me form close friendships that I would have missed out on if it wasn’t for the Jungle. Over the years the Jungle has noticeably become less enthusiastic and not as highly attended. The Jungle leaders and I plan on returning the Jungle to its former glory. ”

“My name is Scott and I’m a senior at Central this year. I’ve loved The Jungle for as long as I can remember, and I hope that this year we can get it back to where it used to be. My favorite sport to attend is basketball.  I hope next year’s leaders execute the same ideas we have in mind for improving The Jungle this year and stay headstrong throughout their year as leaders. After high school, I’m most likely going to attend college at Mizzou and hopefully figure out my future there.”

Cameron Borders

Favorite Chant? “I believe that we will win”

“My favorite sports games to attend are football, basketball, and volleyball. I want to show the next year of leaders how they should lead and give them advice on things they can do differently that we didn’t get to do. After school, I plan on making stacks.”

Favorite Chant? “I’m blind. I’m deaf. I wanna be a ref.”
